The key emphasis on my work is the therapeutic relationship between myself and the client, which is both psychologically and emotionally healing.
My extensive training in integrative therapy allows me to bring elements of different theories towards a combined approach, taking into account the uniqueness of each individual, working 'relationally' towards your needs.

Adolescents (11+)
Navigating life as an adolescent can be complex as they move towards adulthood. They experience challenges driven by biological change both physically and cognitively alongside heavily influences by context and environment.
Complexities of school pressures, social media, social lives and forming their own identities can often cause intense feelings of overwhelm, which may lead to periods of anxiety and depression. With rapid changes both physically and mentally, at such a crucial developmental time, this can lead to coping mechanisms such as compulsive/impulsive behaviours (OCD), risk-taking, self-harm, disordered eating, lack of motivation, amongst others.
These behaviours can be confusing and frightening, often causing friction and distress for all involved.
I offer a safe and confidential space where your young person can freely explore their feelings or concerns, gaining a better understanding in relation to their often intense emotional reactions and communication with those around them. This helps to build stronger foundations in confidence, self-esteem and resilience towards a more autonomous self.
I have extensive experience working with neurodiversity, with a special interest in autistic masking in young girls and the impact this can have on mental health. I recognise the need for creating inclusive therapeutic environments which may involve a blend of both creative and talking therapy, dependant on the individual’s needs.
I have also worked within secondary school, college and university settings, providing mental and emotional support for young people and have a great understanding on the academic and social pressures in these environments.

Individuals / Adult
In today’s fast paced world, many of us can face a myriad of challenges. This might be work related stress, personal relationships or simply navigating the complexities of everyday life and the sudden changes that can bring. Over time, these pressures can build up, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stuck. We might engage in unhealthy coping mechanisms as a way of provide temporary relief or distraction from our emotional stress. Some common examples may be excessive alcohol consumption, emotional eating, unhealthy relationships, substance abuse and isolation.
My aim as a therapist is to help support you through and to focus on those difficult periods in our lives, helping to uncover and explore the root causes of any concerns and difficulties, improving mental clarity and understanding, from which may come acceptance for the past, and change in the present and for the future, gaining self-awareness, empowerment beneficial in restoring a sense of wellbeing and in developing healthier coping mechanisms.

Couples / Relationships
All close relationships can struggle and go through challenging times, with many pressures on our lives and time; from communication difficulties and conflict, family to finances, parenting and life transitions.
Relationship counselling might include couples, parent(s) and children.
You may be facing relationship issues, communication challenges, and changes in your relationship, or you may be seeking to strengthen your bond with a family member or loved one. It can be easy to feel hurt and disconnected, with old patterns of relating from our own childhood unconsciously triggering further upset causing fighting and withdrawal or affecting our own parenting styles.
Looking at these underlying patterns of behaviours in a therapeutic environment, with empathy and mutual respect, and in a safe space, counselling can help heal old wounds, rebuild trust and strengthen bonds. Developing strategies for positive change will help support growth in reconnecting emotionally and learning to communicate more effectively.
